Hello Everyone,

Happy May 2025, and Happy Mother’s Day this coming Sunday to all the beautiful women I know who have embraced the sacred vocation of motherhood. I want to especially acknowledge the young mothers in our immediate family—our daughters and daughters-in-law—who are all such beautiful, loving, and compassionate mothers to our seven grandchildren.

This Sunday, we pause to honour not just what mothers do, but who they are—living reflections of God’s love, patience, and tenderness. From the moment of conception, a mother becomes a sanctuary of life. In her womb, God weaves together a new soul with infinite care. And as that child grows, she becomes the first teacher, the first comforter, and the first witness to the mystery of life and faith.

Catholic tradition holds mothers in high esteem. We look to Mary, the Mother of God, whose “yes” changed the course of salvation history. Her courage, humility, and unwavering trust in God remind us that the role of a mother is nothing less than holy. Every mother who wipes a tear, says a prayer, or whispers a blessing over her child echoes the gentle strength of Our Lady.

Mothers reveal the face of God in ways no one else can—in their sleepless nights and whispered prayers, in their tireless work and unspoken sacrifices, in their quiet joys and fierce love. Through it all, they model divine mercy and self-giving love.

Whether you are a mother by birth, adoption, spiritual motherhood, or a mother figure who has poured love into someone’s life—you are seen, known, and deeply loved by God.

Thank you for cooperating with the Creator in the most intimate way: by giving life, nurturing it, and helping others grow in holiness.

Today and every day, may God bless all mothers—those with children in their arms, in their hearts, or in heaven.

May Our Lady wrap you in her mantle of grace and intercede for you always.

You are cherished.
You are essential.
You are loved.

Happy Mother’s Day, everyone.

Love,
MJ xo
