Hi By My Side friends, welcome to June 2023, the month of Father’s Day. With summer just around the corner, I am hoping that the warmth and sunshine of summer holidays will refresh all of you and bring you great peace and joy. Today I want to lead into the summer months by sharing with you a few inspirational reflections about Fathers and their influence on their families’ lives. So here we go!

1) Man can banter with his friends and colleagues about whether God exists. But a father can look at his daughter and know.

2) We are much more than the jobs we have, the status we attain, and the wealth we accumulate.

3) A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child.

4) Find a song for you and your baby. Make it yours. Dance with your baby to this song every night. Sing it, whether you feel you sing well or not. Someday, this one song will be your special way of putting your baby to sleep without even having to try.

5) Great fathers don’t find fault. Great fathers find solutions.

6) That man is the richest whose pleasures are cheapest.

7) The greatness of a father is not in how much wealth he acquires but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively. Leadership is a series of behaviours rather than a role for heroes.

9) Many people falsely believe that if you want to be holy, you are not allowed to enjoy life…Holiness brings us to life. It refines every human ability. Holiness doesn’t dampen our emotions; it elevates them. Those who respond to God’s call to holiness are the most joyful people in history. They have a richer, more abundant experience of life, and they love more deeply than most people can ever imagine. They enjoy life, all of life.

10) I am endlessly fascinated that playing football is considered a training ground for leadership, but raising children isn’t.

11) Adversity toughens manhood, and the characteristic of the good or the great man is not that he has been exempt from the evils of life but that he has surmounted them.

And finally…

12) You can’t always choose the path that you walk in life but you can always choose the manner in which you walk it.

Happy June and upcoming Father’s Day this month everyone. See you all next month.

Love MJ xo
